nDepth Security is currently seeking a Network Technician to support one of our projects in the Hanover, MD area. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Systems administration, hardware/software integration, installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, tuning, automation scripting and general user support.
- Duties will also include maintaining system documentation, developing infrastructure support procedures, and providing security support.
- Providing technical support to internal and external personnel on highly complex network system installation processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers and desktops.
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining virtual machines, preferably in VMWare ESXi.
- Experience working with VMWare vCenter.
- Experience working with desktop and server hardware and peripherals.
- Experience with networking concepts such as routing, switching, encryption, and firewalls.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking, networking architecture, and it’s interrelation to desktops, servers, and operating systems.
- Experience with packet capture and network analysis tools.
- Experience with network security principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with monitoring solutions and datacenter operations.
- Understanding of Software Defined Networking & Micro-segmentation.
- Six (6) years progressively responsible Systems Administration experience is required.
- Certification required, at a minimum, CompTIA Security+
- Education/Years of Experience: Six (6) years of Systems Administration experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field, with two (2) years of experience.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI w POLY.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages (Windows PowerShell, BASH, VMware PowerCLI etc.)
- Experience with hardening systems and reading/implementing STIG guidance is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g. Python, Perl).
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining VMWare products such as ESXi, vCenter, VSAN and NSX.
- Possess the ability to explain complex abstraction layer designs and troubleshooting steps.
- Knowledge of or experience with the hardware layer and how it interacts with the software layer directly (example the Dell server the host sits on or the Cisco switch the NIC connects to).
- Proven ability to work independently while being conscious of how your work interacts with that of others.
- Possess drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flex and overtime hours with some weekend hours expected.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and completely; analytical problem-solving skills; adept at root-cause analysis and mitigation.
- Effective communication, writing, documentation, and requirements gatherings skills are needed to be effective in this role for working with other members of the Team and with the Customer to meet the requirements of the program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is desired but not required.
